SAFEEE! so it's the morning after the night before ahar, i always feel worse for some reason. my leg absoloutely kills & my voice has gone. but that's alright, i had a fucking good night.TASTE OF CHAOS 2006;so alice got to mine for about 4:45ish and then we set off to the NIA. after stopping at mcdonalds for fries (and coke to put in our J.D, yes we're alcoholics) we got over the bridge at the ICC to put the JD in and then we realised it was a littler too strong, so we downed a bit and threw the rest in the canal. ahaha. we got closer to the nia and realised we could hear a band, i was like oh shit i hope that's only saosin. luckily, it was!SAOSIN;the photos for saosin are a bit shitty, because i was just getting used to my camera like fools so yes;the first song i heard when i walked in was sleepers, and they looked a bit like this; i would put more pictures in, but my saosin pictures really are quite bollocks. they played bury your head, sleepers, it's far better to learn and the song i missed because i was outside. so yes, saosin. lovely bunch of guys too. the bassist was well nice he was all like :D so he made me and alice happy. and that is always nice.SENSES FAIL;now now now senses fail i am rather annoyed at because they didn't play buried a lie. and that is one of my favourite songs. but yes, they started with "you're cute when you scream." and well, a few people joined in. in some respects i felt the audience was there purely to either see alexisonfire/underoath or taking back sunday. which is a bit sad cus like saosin & senses fail are class bands. fuck anti-flag, anti-flag are shit.. SO YEAH ANYWAY. they played cute when you scream, and then they went into three new songs, martini kisses, rum is drinking not for burning & finished up with 187. they were pretty good tbh. pictures? aiight. these are quite shit too, i was rather far back. tis unusual for me to be far away from a stage. all in all senses fail were pretty damn good.FAST REACTION;me & alice now love fast reaction. i always feel gutted for the support acts because they get a stage the size of a broom cupboard, they can't like 'rock out' or anything. they can't bust any moves. and they cant have a big band. the bands on support tonight were all 3 or 4 piece. so anyway; fast reaction consisted of 3 guys. every other word the guy said was fit, which was alright cus he wasn't so bad himself ;) they played 4 songs which were pretty fuckin' good for a support act. & i hope they do make it big. next up we haveeee;UNDEROATH;oh wow. just wow, underoath were pure fucking class bruv. me & alice had been watching the support act pretty up close so now we were on the side pretty close to the main stage. well pretty close? nearly on it. we were standing just behind the hardcore dancers, who were hilarious to watch. OH AND LMFAO the guy with the t-shirt that said "i'm tall" on the front and "you're small" on the back was fucking aceee ahaha. i wanna marry him. just like i wanna marry smiley guy from senses fail. my list goes on.underOATH's set list was pretty shit, infact it was very shit. but the thing is you can't deny pure talent, and they are amazing. even if the songs aren't great they make you wanna fucking dance along. they were awesome, they opened with "in regards to myself" which was fucking epic with the like, lights acting as the film roll sound. OH THE LIGHTS me & alice were blinded. the lights @ taste of chaos this year were amazing ahaha, thats why my pictures did fuck up a bit because like, the flashing lights were manic. so as soon as they came on the pit got manic. but it wasnt the best pit i've ever seen. after in regards to myself we got writing on the wall, which was a bit of a good old sing along whee, i love singalongs. then we got "its a dangerous busines.." WHICH WAS FUCKING ACE. the best song they played tbh, in my opinion. and my opinion is the best. then we got "i dont feel very receptive today" which hardly anyone knew rofl, i was doing my little dance. oh yes i was. and then they closed with a new song, which was stupid. as they shoulda closed with an oldie. but whatever the song was it was played wlel & i enjoyed it indeed. oh i got some bare good underOATH pictures. (((:ALEXISONFIRE;oh lordy lordy lordy lord. i have never seen such an amazing live band (well joint with the used.) and it was there first night too. :D they were proper ace. they came on with "drunks, lovers, sinners & saints" which got the few that had the new album (me & alice obv.) dancing away. me & alice proper went for it with aof. i mean we had kinda been YAY for underOATH but really both of us had come for the aof. well i'd come for the underOATH & senses fail too. BUT as i was disappointed with their set lists. aof had to own it for me. AND BOY DID THEY. dallas and the gang were on fucking top. after playing drunks, lovers, sinners & saints we got a bit of talk and then straight into boiled frogs. WHICH WAS HETIC. IM NOT SLEEEPINGGG ALONEE AGAINNN TOOONIIIGHTTTT! fucking choon no? we were having a good old dance AND THEN OH LOVERS OF MINE go into 44 fucking caliber love letter, THE NIA GOES FUCKING MAAAAAAAD. oh it was so awesome when it was like -silence- "THIS IS A 44 CALIBER LOVE LETTER STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART" -DANCE- oh god i was loving it LMFAOOOO. proper. me & alice were like :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:DD:D:D:D:D:D thennnn we got this could be anywhere in the world (i told jordaay last night they didnt play it, but thinking back they did SO SORRY JORD LMFAOO.) crisissssss, waterwings and then they ended with accidents. OH MY FUCKING GOD IS WHAT I SAID. i didn't think they'd even think about playing accidents, BUT THEY DID. :D:D:D:D OH IT WAS SO GOOD. there was crowd surfin, sex sex sex dancing, naked people. OH THEY ARE AMAZING. fuck i'll be seeing them again. i'd pay £20 just to see aof. amazing please.ANTI-FLAG;are shit sorry. i went to get a drink while they were on for 45 minutes. i also had a sit down and rested my aching feet. tar the sitting down time lads, appreciated. oh & stop the shouting. it's boring.TAKING BACK SUNDAY;were actually better than i expected. so me & alice had moved towards the back at this point cus we were both wrecked & we wanted enough room to shake our groove thangs. so on comes adam, by himself with an acoustic guitar and a harmonica. yeah we were all like wtf. he started singing some song, and i lost the will to live tbh. and then he's like "anyone know a band called the cure?" and he did their cover of just like heaven. which was pretty nice. then he explained that fred (lead guitarist, backing vocals) wasn't here because he'd dropped out to go home to his family problems and he hadn't been there since germany. but it was alright cus code from saosin & spencer from underOATH were going to cover his vocals and the guitarist chris from senses fail was going to play his guitar. SO DOWN GO THE LIGHTS & ON COMES FAT ASIAN. if you don't know fat asian, you should know fat asian. he is the fatest guitarist i have ever seen in my whole life. but fuck he goes for it. i like him. alot. no-one knows his name, or how old he is or where he's from. BUT TO ME AND ALICE HE'S FAT ASIAN AND HE'S RAD> :D:D:D:D:D:D:D love him.so they start again with "what's it feel like to be a ghost?" which is ace as an opener, me & alice go wild but the people around us are like :| LMFAO SO I WAS CRACKING UP AT THEM. but yeah man. if you're gonna pay to see a big gig, you might as well dance to every band or it's not even worth it. ahahaha. then we got (i cant remember the order apart from the last & the first) you're so last summer, cute without the e, liar, makedamnsure and a decade under the influence. i was shaking my thing all the way through tbs. they were prettty amazing. :D aha that was that. FUN YES? :D

| we are fuckin' scientists. |
[05 Nov 2006|01:44am] |
HAIII. i decided i'd use my lj @ the moment for my gig mishaps, since i seem to be going to alot of gigs in the next 3/4 months.
AHEM. we are scientists; 3rd november 2006; birmingham academy.
weelll. me, leah and alice got to the academy for about half 6 [door opening time] and there was no queue, which was a bit of a hurrah moment as the last 5/6 gigs i've been to, i freezed my tits off outside the academy and entered smelling like chlorine from the air vents. SO YES, no queue. and we went down to the pit, which was actually relatively empty. we got pretty much 6 rowsofpeople back from the front & waited for about 10 minutes [AGAIN, such speed.] until the first support act came on; au revior simone; possibly the most boring nintendocore band i have ever listened to in my whole life. au revior consists of three girls, three synths. yes, that's really it. they played about 5/6 songs which eventually all blurred into one. the intros were always fucking good and when their first song started i got a tad excited as i thought i was going to have a postal service/hellogoodbye/playradioplay!-esque band, but no.. unfortunately i appeared to be wrong. making out the lyrics was impossible, someone was out of key and they all seemed to playing the same tune over & over. OH and the crazy girl on the end who was dressed like a tramp was rather dodgy. the thing i did enjoy during au revior simone was keith murray [w.a.s lead vocalist] coming onto the balcony with the rest of w.a.s to watch, drink & sing along. it's always nice to see bands get friendly with their support acts. overall score for au revior simone: 3/10. that is bad, oh dearie me.
mates of state; possibly one of the best support acts i have ever seen, or maybe i was just happy because au revior simone had finally fucked off [i know the guys in front of me were, ahaha. "we've been au revior simone, this is our last song" "FUCK YES, OFF YOU GO!"]. mates of state are a married double act, which is cute in itself. i was surprised i liked them tbh, as i don't usually go for female vocalists, but she was really good. they are a i suppose, alternative/soft rock kind of band but with some really good upbeat songs which were more hm.. i can't really compare them to any band. OH YES their livelier songs were rather like garbage. i did really enjoy them. their lyrics were funny, & keith murray was fucking loving it from the balcony. doing some crazy dance. the only bit that confused me & leah was when they did one song and WE SWEAR they were shouting "DYKE" during the chorus. wtf?! overall score; 8/10. generous from me ahar.
we are scientists;
it took keith & the gang 40 minutes after mates of state had gone off stage to get ready, so the people in the pit [us] were rather pissed off. but everyone was really eager. the lights go down and suddenly phil collins - against all odds come on. everyone exchanges some wtf faces but the lighters come out, the swaying starts and everyone begins to sing along. the chorus stops and out pops we are scientists to an amazing roar and keith starts to cover against all odds. ENTER SURGE FROM THE CROWD. fuck me, it was the hugest mosh i have ever been in my whole life. i lost alice for two songs & saved leah from being crushed. leah lost her shoes and LMFAO. everyone went for it. it was the most amazing crowd response to a first song i have ever seen, including taste of chaos & fall out boy [ROFL]. it was just, woah. so AFTER THAT it all died down, and we decided to get leah out of the pit before she ripped her feet to pieces. we got to the side of the stage and 'nobody move' comes on. YET AGAIN, the crowd go crazy. after a good old bit of spaz dancing, me, leah & alice make it up to the balcony and get our good old sofa in the corner. it is possibly the best sofa in the world (L). so we spaz danced around it for the rest of the night. the best songs played were definitely 'it's a hit' 'the great escape' and 'scene is dead'. ENCORE was fucking screamed and w.a.s returned on stage, ONLY TO SING boyz II men classic, "end of the road" OUT RETURN THE LIGHTERS. only w.a.s could cover two potentially shitty pop songs and make them cool. 'nuff said. i'm tired. overall score; 9/10.
taste of chaos on friday (L) i fucking bum t.o.c i do. then cute is what we aim for, and mcr. LMFAO.
now i must sleep before my legs fall off (:
